Black levels

OLED pixels turn completely off for black. LCD always has a backlight. The difference shows watching dark video or at night.

True black — pixel off
LCD backlight — deep gray
LCD backlight — washed

Color vibrancy

Photos, Instagram, YouTube. OptiScreen Pro makes colors pop more than Apple's standard calibration. Standard looks clean and accurate.

126% DCI-P3 — richer than Apple
85–90% — accurate and clean
70–80% — flat and washed

Outdoor visibility

Walking on the pier checking your phone. OptiScreen Pro handles direct sunlight. Standard is comfortable in shade.

800–916 nits — reads in sunlight
500–650 nits — good in shade
400 nits — struggles outdoors

Touch accuracy

Typing fast, gaming, edge taps. Budget screens fail this. Both OptiScreen tiers match original.

Near-OEM — no missed taps
Full resolution — responsive
Edge misses, phantom touches

Viewing angle

Tilt your phone sideways. Budget screens go blue-green. OptiScreen Pro holds color at any angle.

Honest answers

Questions we get every day

What is the iOS 'Unknown Part' notice?

After any non-Apple screen is installed, iOS 15.2+ shows a notice in Settings → General → About saying the display is unverified. This is informational only — it does not affect how the screen works, Face ID, or any other function. Apple notes the part is not from their supply chain, the same way a car notifies you of aftermarket parts.

Will True Tone work with OptiScreen?

True Tone requires Apple's proprietary calibration chip stored on the original screen IC. No aftermarket screen supports it. OptiScreen Pro has a fixed, factory-calibrated color temperature most people find accurate and comfortable. If True Tone is essential, we can source an original Apple screen at higher cost.

Is OptiScreen Pro better than Apple's screen?

In color vibrancy, yes — 126% DCI-P3 vs Apple's 100% calibrated target. Colors are more saturated and vivid, which most people prefer. Apple Pro models reach higher peak brightness for HDR content in direct sunlight. For everything else — texting, photos, social media, video calls — the screens are indistinguishable in 95% of tests.

Which tier is right for me?

OptiScreen Standard is for iPhone 8, XR, and 11 — phones that originally shipped with LCD. OptiScreen Pro is for iPhone 12 and newer — phones that originally shipped with OLED. We match the right technology to the right model. Simple.

What does the 1-year warranty cover?

Any defect in the screen itself — dead pixels, touch failure, backlight issues, color problems — within 12 months of installation. Does not cover physical damage or water damage after installation. Bring it in, we handle it, no charge.

Can I see the screen before you install it?

Yes. We power it on before installation so you can see the display, test the touch, and approve it. We will never install a screen without your sign-off.
